I think changing it to a pure-shock card would help early game, as it gives an opportunity for them to at least ramp into longer fights like other characters do which is important for high-apex. Shock has potential but once again, early on you can't stack it enough for it to stay above 1 on average, let alone to compete with many other options. In the case of misty, you're hitting for 4 or 9 at best with the Chi, but this relies on draw order and is unfortunately light damage (refer to above). I think a good comparison to this would be Milady, who has very low damage base abilities but synergies to make this work, such as setting up strike for blade flurry (basically turning 4 damage attacks into 6 and 8). Without the unreleased provinces, this character can only perform "optimally" in Uzir, but even this reveals the awkwardness of the elemental resistances in the long-term.Īnother issue with them is the starting deck, which I find is extremely underwhelming with little to compensate for it early on. This limit isn't a huge issue given that many damage heroes can just focus on one, but this hero requires BOTH to play optimally due to the way chi works. Light is an element overlapping with both provinces. Consider their nature/light element at the moment. This isn't to say they aren't capable of breaking the game like the others, but rather that compared to the alternatives, their skillset is very awkward from start to finish. I find the new hero to be *INCREDIBLY* weak from the start. Some ideas are interesting, but I think too much was done at once to expect it to mesh well. The difficulty of the fights should be the incentive, ESPECIALLY if you're making it so backtracking generates threat too (Meaning you can't save an elite battle until you're stacked). I don't think elite fights should create more threat than alternative fights. The threat seems disproportionate for the targets. Big fan of roguelite card games and been following Arcanium for a bit, but I have to say this new update is a bit rough around the edges.
